School children have enjoyed Curtis Orchard tours for over a quarter century now.
Our tours include a behind-the-scenes look at Curtis Orchard, followed by refreshments. Classes may also eat their lunches at our outside picnic tables and enjoy our free playground area.
In addition, we have side options available for apple or pumpkin picking.
Adult groups, religious organizations, and private groups like boys scouts & brownies often book tours with us too.

Tour Specifics
-Takes 45 minutes and includes:
- Bee Presentation
- Cider making operation
- Apple grading operation
-Refreshments for everyone include:
- Apple
- Donut
- Apple sipper (8-oz of cider)
Side Option
-Pumpkin Picking
- Extra $1.50 per person
- Can be done in the patch
or just outside the store

Other Things to Know
- Tours must be booked in advance. Call (217) 359-5565.
- The entire guided tour is indoors, and is handicap accessible.
- $5 per person (including adult chaperones).
- We do allow one free adult per class.
- We can handle a total of 60 people for each 45-minute time slot. Groups larger than 60 will be split in half and be given two time slots. While one group is getting their tour, the other half can eat lunch and/or enjoy our playground.
- We don't accept groups smaller than 10 people unless that group is willing to pay a $50 minimum charge.
- No deposit is needed. Payment will be collected the day of the tour. We prefer credit/debit cards over cash.
- We do not allow any outside food or drink to be brought in (since we do have a cafe' here). Exception: sack lunches for school children
